We are currently facing a global recession which is going to hit the UK economy hard. At this time the charities that we work for will look to us, as Finance Directors, to show real financial leadership. How we respond will be pivotal to the success of our charities. To ensure that you are well placed to give the leadership and support that your charities will need in this difficult period, we have designed this year’s Conference around some of the key strategic and operational issues you will face.

The conference opens with a keynote speech from Martin Brookes, Chief Executive of New Philanthropy Capital, who will look at what the public is expecting from charities in the current economic climate.

In the lunch time keynote address Mark Watts, Chief Executive and former Finance Director of the RSPCA will look at just what the Chief Executive is looking for from the Finance Director in the current climate. Mark will give an insight from the CEO’s point of view in to the areas Finance Directors need to cover.

During the day we have a total of five streams for delegates to choose from. Two of these streams will look at a number of key issues for managing during a recession from reviewing your strategy and a strategic approach to cost reduction to fraud and the signs of insolvency. The other three streams will focus firstly on current issues in the sector, for example philanthropy and partnership working. Secondly, a new area for this year will look at personal development and the issues of organisational culture and thirdly, we will have our ever popular updates stream.

The day ends with Kevin Brennan MP, The Minister for the Third Sector giving the final keynote address. He will look at the current issues facing the sector and the actions that the Government is taking to support the sector.

The Conference gives you access to more than 30 professional firms in the exhibition area, providing a wealth of experience for you to draw on during the day and discuss current issues and organisational needs.

The structure of the programme also ensures there is ample time for networking and sharing experiences with your fellow professionals during the day, and at the drinks reception at the close of conference. The reception provides the ideal opportunity to network with speakers and delegates at the end of the day.

Written notice of cancellations up to 21 days before an event will incur a 25% administration fee. After this time period, a 100% cancellation charge will apply. Substitutions (i.e. name changes) for the course booked can be made free of charge.

CFG reserves the right to cancel any event two weeks prior to the event date. You will be entitled to a full refund or given the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date. However we regret that we cannot refund any travel or accommodation costs incurred by delegates.
