Procurement Training - Cardiff

This course is for charity finance professionals who have responsibility for procurement and want to learn how to create effective and efficient tenders within their organisation. The training will explore the procurement and tender process including writing tenders, procurement methods and designing award criteria. New approaches to procurement will also be explored, such as the application of lean principles and how demonstrating good procurement practice can be a key differentiator when it comes to raising funds.

Finance directors and managers that have procurement within their remit as well as others within charities that have responsibility for the procurement of services at their charities.

10.30 Good procurement & how to add value
This session will look at how good procurement can add value and benefit what you do as an organisation. Review the procurement cycle as a whole, detailing the use of strategic tools and methods that you need to consider. Ways of generating ongoing income for your charity and a positive message to your existing funders.
11.30 Tendering
This session will give practical advice on writing tenders and the importance of specifications that are clear and concise. How to design award criteria, create a scoring methodology and evaluating tenders.
12.30 Lunch
13.15 Contract management and supplier performance
When procuring products and services it is vital that you monitor and measure the performance of each contract. This ensures that the supplier is meeting the performance criteria and that areas for improvement can be identified. This session will explore mechanisms and processes designed to measure the performance of suppliers and the agreed contracts.
14.15 Social and economic benefits of collaborative procurement
This session will explore the types of collaborative procurement and the different approaches to collaborative procurement.

Learn how you can make your procurement processes more efficient and customer focussed by applying the key principles of lean. After an overview of lean thinking, this session will help you identify how this method can be applied within your organisation.

Written notice of cancellations up to 21 days before an event will incur a 25% administration fee. After this time period, a 100% cancellation charge will apply. Substitutions (i.e. name changes) for the course booked can be made free of charge.

CFG reserves the right to cancel any event two weeks prior to the event date. You will be entitled to a full refund or given the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date. However we regret that we cannot refund any travel or accommodation costs incurred by delegates. CFG accepts no liability if an event is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the date, time or the venue at any time prior to the event date. If this occurs you will be informed of changes and given the opportunity to cancel or transfer to an alternative date.
